Why Homeowners in Horry County Choose Generac Generators
Power outages here on the Grand Strand can disrupt more than just lights — they affect AC, well pumps, medical devices, and daily life. Whether you’re in a neighborhood in Carolina Forest, a beachside home in Myrtle Beach, or right in Conway, a Generac standby generator from Cooper Electrical Services provides dependable protection.
Here’s what sets Generac apart for local homes:
- #1 Selling Brand in North America — Trusted by more homeowners than any other standby generator.
- Mobile Link™ App — Free Wi-Fi monitoring lets you check generator status, receive alerts, manage exercise schedules, and monitor propane levels right from your smartphone — from anywhere in Horry County or beyond.
- Quiet-Test™ Mode — Runs a weekly self-test at a lower, quieter RPM so your neighbors barely notice (much quieter than a typical lawnmower).
- True Power Technology — Delivers clean, stable power that’s safe for sensitive electronics, computers, and medical equipment.
- Automatic Operation — Senses an outage and restores power in seconds — even when you’re not home.
- Runs on Your Home’s Natural Gas or Propane — Connects directly to your existing supply — no manual refueling during an outage as long as your fuel source is available (propane tanks are refilled periodically by your supplier).
- Built for Coastal Storms — Weather-resistant enclosures designed to handle hurricane conditions common in Horry County.
- Strong Factory Warranty — Backed by Generac with extended options available through certified dealers like us.
Generac generators are engineered and assembled in the USA and deliver the reliable backup power that Horry County families count on.

We work with you to size the right system based on your home’s power needs and lifestyle. Here are the models we install most often in Carolina Forest, Myrtle Beach, and Conway:
14 kW Guardian Series — Ideal for smaller homes or essential circuits (refrigerator, lights, some HVAC, well pump). 20–22 kW Guardian Series — Our most popular choice for most families — powers major appliances, full kitchen, central AC, electronics, and more. 24–26 kW Guardian Series — Whole-home coverage for larger properties in Myrtle Beach and Carolina Forest.
All models offer flexible placement options and can be customized with color choices to blend with your home’s exterior. We handle the entire process — site assessment, Horry County permitting, professional installation, and ongoing service right here locally.
